SPD type 2 overvoltage protection devices with QuickSafe® thermal monitoring are used to protect against indirect lightning strikes and switching overvoltages. They are installed as close as possible to the feeding point of the electrical system. All OVR T2 consist of a base part and an exchangeable protection module. They are equipped with a mechanical function display and the TS variants with a potential-free changeover contact. The variants with ´´reserve varistor´´ (s) offer additional protection for the electrical system in that the overvoltage protection device is not completely disconnected from the mains at the end of its service life, but instead guarantees basic protection with an additional varistor and the system can therefore run until the end of its service life replacement of the overvoltage protection module is still protected. They are compatible with the System pro M compact series and can be bus-mounted with them via busbars. Main application in sub-distributions and final circuits.
